UCVlog: NADIA AFTER SURGERY

Ileostomy surgery, or any surgery for that matter, takes a toll on your body. From coming out of anesthesia, managing surgery pain, and doing all things necessary to get on the road to recovery puts a lot of strain on your body. This surgery went much smoother than my past surgeries, probably due to the fact that I had an ostomy before. There were a lot things that fell right back into place having an ostomy for the second time. This was a minimally invasive surgery, done laproscopically. Two small incisions were made and my stoma was formed in the exact same spot as my last stoma so no additional scarring was necessary! Almost immediately following surgery I was encouraged to sit up and walk as soon as possible. I had to use a lot of mind over matter to overcome the pain to do what was required so that I could go home soon. No one likes being in the hospital. Healing at home for me is so much more comfortable and makes me happier than being out of my element. Please contact me if you have any questions at Nadia@UCVlog.com
